I have a B.A. in history/political science (I think it is combined that way--you'd think I'd know after all these years!). I intended to go to law school from the day I started college, so I picked a major that was recommended for pre-law. I went to law school and am an attorney today.
Therefore, I guess the answer is my history major is irrelevant, but it was necessary for me to get a college degree in SOMETHING in order to get the J.D.
