Being a California girl from SF, I'd say SF. The culture, the romance, the sites...the city just has a aura to it.
Other than that...Monterey. The foggy mornings and cool weather is SO romantic. The beaches, while chilly are gorgeous. Long drives up and down the coastline. Utterly amazing.
I SO miss California. And for the earthquake/fire stuff... ss'ahelluva lot better than hurricanes and tornadoes!
