perhaps as nomad said, remove norton...and install some other antivirus...i use AVG ( its free ) http://www.grisoft.com/ and see how it goes from there.
however, my personal experience with win98 is that it ran alright, if you only wanted a main process or two...but it generally needin rebuilding every few months. so perhaps you should look at getting a second harddrive, and then you can store your much needed porn...etc there...whilst yuo do your rebuild. you will also be in a good position to rebuild in the future. good luck dude
