Actually,
people are working hard for this amendment. And some of them are in the government. Other people aren't. Current law, court cases, and many people hold that flag burning is protected speech. Incidentally, liberal nemesis Antonin Scalia is one of those who, while disliking the desecration of our flag, firmly upholds your right to do it.
