Ah, the magical mystery of the stainless steel. I asked a bunch of chemical and electrical engineers about it once and the only answer they could come up with was "Uuh... something with ions probably." Yay for science!
Anyways, I use a stainless steel teaspoon and rub it all over my hands under running water and it removes any smell. You mustn't miss any spot though.
