You think you have it bad? I worked in the porn industry. Talk about desensitized.
The trick is not to lay off the porn, but to really discover what turns you on. Once in a blue moon there is a post on the Titty Board that just flips a switch and gets me going. I think to myself, "Holy shit, I haven't been aroused by still pictures since I was 16." If I go looking for material, I know exactly what I want to see. I know how I want the girl to look and what I want her to be doing. Same goes for the guy.
I wouldn't REALLY call it desensitizing, I'd call it refining.
