between actions i can be found frozen on a chair
often with an expression of surprise on my face
as i gaze downward and discover topiary where none was expected

immobilized in this way, my thoughts become recursive

these recursive thoughts travel about
the climate in my skull

sometimes i subject them to solidification operations

but mostly, i look at the topiary

and dream about rearrangements

and alternate topologies

sometimes i reach for a tool

but mostly, i am just surprised.
