Why doesn't anyone compare costs to what we spend on welfare programs

I've seen various estimates but one number was 434 billion a year on welfare if you combine state and federal spending.

What does that work out to a day?

How is that war on poverty looking?

When can we pull out?

Boy the War seems damn cheap now.
