I would say go for it, try and get something with two controllers, i enjoy playing vintage mortal combat on my SNES and nothing beats mario on the NES... plus duck hunt!!! the original system with the controllers will be a way better experience than on a wii controller if you are really into it.

for less than 50 you can get one of these new recreation units that play both NES and SNES games off ebay... i'm seeing varying different models of these things, kinda interesting:
