I really don't understand how girls like Lindsay become so famous and desired... she has always seemed very average to me... you could find a thousand girls who are more attractive (and who could probably act better, too) without even expending much effort.

It's all about who you know and how well you can work your connections in the motion picture business. Most actresses really aren't that pretty without make-up and most aren't that talented; but they know powerful and influential people who can help their career.
