Yup. I would never take mine off, if it were waterproof (and if the sulfur in the Icelandic water didn't tarnish everything it touched). With my gold earrings and wedding ring, I really don't take them off, ever... they don't tarnish, and there is no reason to remove them... they are a part of me, as you said.
