Here's Phil and I on the "plaza" next to the first image you posted, least I think it the same temple.
One of the things that blows me away about these sites in the Yucatan is they built up 10-30 meter to make the plaza area then built the temples.
I can't really find any good shots of showing detail at Uxmal, but I'm headed there again in the morning. I'll try to get better shots this time and post them. But don't hold your breath my photo skills are limited to whatever the camera will do on it's own. One of these days I'm going to spend sometime learning more about digital photography. It's on my list.
