You fail to clarify what in covered by guns.....tanks? rockets? RPG? bombs? These more 'modern' implements of war cause way more impersonal death than all the guns combined....at least with a gun you mostly have to see the person you are killing. With a rocket you can kill 50,000 without hearing a single scream.
I think those that wish to eliminate guns are unaware of the really violence that people are capable of.
