I had the option to remain conscious during the procedure, and watch it on the video monitor. It was interesting up to the point of the second or third 'wiggly' feeling and then I asked them to open up the IV for the sedative. Before I knew it I was waking up in a darkened recovery room, with soft music.
The clinic had the rather humourous name of: "The Upper Canada Lower Bowel Clinic". I find that a sense of humour always serves, in the end....
