Some hot dog spots in Chicago refuse to put ketchup on a hot dog even if you specifically ask. Some places make you go to the end of the line if you even ask, and tell you to try again. At least one place refuses to serve you.

Well, I'm from the northwestern suburbs and I can tell you first hand, based entirely on the hotdog ideology, that Chicagoans are clueless.
Ketchup and sausage go together like PB&J. It just makes
sense.
