Nix on the Karaoke--you don't want the potential for emberassment(if either you or her is a bad singer)
Go somewhere where you can talk--cafe or bowling are good ideas already mentioned.
My current gf our first date was a movie but we went for drinks first..good idea since movie = no talking and basically you're back to square one.
