There is no question that you have to make this rear wheel drive...two words: Wheel Hop. Two more: Torque Steer. Neither of those would be fun AT ALL with a high HP motor in a light car.
And yes, downforce and aerodynamics will become your nemesis on a project like this. What exactly are you going to do with this Mini? Autocross? road course? Quartermile? Kill yourself?
