Colossus died curing the Legacy Virus. Beast and Moira developed a cure, but it required infecting a person and then that would release something into the air that would cure everyone.
Emma was shattered, and that started the Murder at Xavier's storyline. She was shot by Esme, one of the Stepford sisters (students of hers) but was fused back together by Jean.
