The music industry is completely wrong on this issue. And i hate stealing with a passion.
When i was a teen we used to make copies of a bands tapes and give them to a friend to listen to. sometimes there would be even 3 or 4 bands to a single tape.
at least half of the bands that i currently listen to i started liking by listening to a free tape.
then i went a bought the groups, tapes, records, i went to concerts bought tshirst, posters, videos etc...
i must have spent over 500$ just on metallica alone. all because someone gave me a tape with some songs from kill em all.
it's called building a fan base.
they should thank all the file sharers.
the ones they should really be going after are the pirates who continue to charge 15 for a CD.
