man a 10/22 is one of the biggest money pits you can buy

. you get one and all the sudden you fight out you have sunk 1000 in customizing a 200 dollar rifle

or you get an ar-15 and put 5000 into a 1000 dollar rifle

. for varmet work a .223 is about the best. ive been hearing good things out of .17hmr but i swear i wouldnt shoot anything bigger than a groundhog with on.

but for over all fun...10/22 or an ar-15, its all about budget.
