First question is whether crossbows are legal to hunt with in your area. If they are I'll leave that to someone with more knowledge than I.
For a bow, I'm going to need more info. For example do you shoot fingers or use a release, will you use sights or bare bow. Are you a smaller guy or bigger...
Your best bet is to find an archery range/pro shop and ask questions. Guys at pro shops love to talk about archery (make sure you have a while to kill...)
