I had a situation similar to this. My mom had whiskey in her basement that had been there even before my dad passed away seven years ago, so it had to be a good 10 years old or older. I can't remember off hand what the date was on it. It was still sealed so my wonderful beloved son and his friend decided to give it a taste test. They said it didn't taste the greatest but they did get drunker than a couple of skunks on it and later sicker than hell.
