Can someone just give me a quick step by step process to burning a DVD (a backup in case OG gets scratched )

I've tried using DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink 3.1.2 to save the compressed .vob/.ifo files. However, before the process completes, a error pops up.
..I'm using the Pacific Digital 8x+/-R/RW (aka= LiteOn 851s f:GS08)
with Imation 4x+R media. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
