In the same way that any joke is funny- unless it's picking on YOU. I'm sorry if you're overweight, but I'm sure if someone told a skinny joke, you'd be the first to chuckle. And if you live in America, you're part of the 66% of adults who are obese, so you're not even in a minority.
Also, this is childish hijinx. Sure, what they're doing is illegal, but there's no reason to chastize us for laughing at their stupidity.
P.S.- I was fat growing up. My height used to be measured as a value of pi (as in I was quite round, I hope you got that). I was ridiculed, belittled, and marginalized all during elementary school. So don't think I "don't know". I know.
