Yeah I know what you mean. Last week I get to Detroit airport to take a flight to Nagoya, Japan and they tell me at the check in to unlock my bag. If I don't they said they are authorized to break it open. Jeez.

Now, I don't mind if they want to look BUT I would like them to look when I am there. I can answer any questions right away and take care in closing the bag again. (mine was jam packed...I wasn't sure they could close it again)

When I flew from Japan to the U.S....they put all your bags through an x-ray machine BEFORE check in. If they want to open your bag, they pull you aside and ask you to open it. No worries or problems.

They should do that in the states. We should all write to someone and suggest that. Seems a lot more logical and problem free if you ask me.

I dunno what's going on in your guys' airports, but at SFO, getting the random security check is the best. It's a shorter line, it's my special line. I get to sit down and kick my shoes off and relax for a couple minutes.

I know this sounds funny, but it really does feel good to get a shorter line, sit down and take your shoes off (for whatever reason) after waiting in a 75 foot long line to pick up my tickets.

If they take stuff out my luggage, what stops them from putting stuff in?
Take it from me who works in the airline biz, absolutely nothing.

A few years ago my bag was "randomly" searched. Well I was one of the lucky few who got to lock their bags. Well the fuckers broke my lock. Fortunately nothing was stolen, but I had to buy a new suitcase. I'm sorry it is just so annoying that there is nothing we can do about it.
Wanna bet? Take your ass to the polls on November 2nd. You can do a lot right there.

OH yeah? Do you think Kerry is just going to decide to stop protecting America? Believe me, voting for Kerry isn't going to change airport security at all.
