wow your daughter is really talented, is she taking any drawing classes? She seems like she is just naturally talented.

Just high school art classes. Nothing since. She had a good teacher in her older sister, though. They're very close.
Thanks. :)

Talented girl you have there.

She's ridiculously talented!

The later work has a truly professional sheen that I'd be hard pressed to achieve after half a decade of art school and over a year as a professional layout designer.

Not to mention, the progression of technique and concept from 2005 to the present it out of this world.

Thanks, folks.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment here. I'm not a real fan of the "furry" thing, but I'm definitely a fan of the buxom comic female art. I mean.. come on. We're all adolescents at heart right?

I concur with the others though. She's got some serious talent. She should really put together a portfolio and also a stack of prints to sell and start doing conventions on the side on weekends. I think she'd make a nice little extra stack of cash and likely start getting some connections that could put her into this realm as a career path. I mean, certainly, she should follow her heart and by far a veterinarian is going to have a hell of a lot better time supporting herself than an artist by most accounts, but I wouldn't discount this as an option either.

If she isn't doing the convention thing, I'd suggest it to her. Go to gaming and comic book conventions. Furry conventions....eh, I don't know about that .. I'm sure she'd be a big hit, but it's not inside my knowledge sphere. Depending on where she is located, there are all kinds of conventions every year that a good artist with this kind of talent can do really well in.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. :)

She does go to comic cons and such and I never thought of that avenue for her before, so thank you. I will mention it to her. She had the silhouette of her character made into a sticker for her car and I mentioned perhaps a little line of stickers to see how well they would go over, but she didn't really take it seriously. I think she experiences some 'cognitive dissonance' when she thinks about turning her art into a career, as much as she enjoys the act of making it...she's pretty practical-minded, that one.

As for the 'furry' thing, yeah, I know. She has to struggle with that one, too. Aesthetically she likes the fluffy tails and ears, but doesn't have much of a taste for the lengths some folks go to with the 'furry' lifestyle. She gets quite defensive about it, actually.
