Spider-man is the worst piece of CRAP i've ever seen. I was actually groaning out loud in the theater. EVERYONE i talked to liked it. even the onion gave it a decent review.
Don't get me wrong, the first Batman is one of my favorite movies.
and the CG spiderman looks totally fake.

I thought that was one of the best bits. It added so much to the film.

I have no interest in movies made form comic books (except some of the old Batman and Superman stuff, those were decent.) Spiderman, Hulk, new Batman movies, I have no interest at all.

Chucky series: why would anyone want to watch that crap. I rarely turn off a movie, and I couldn't go 5 minutes without changing the channel.

Like:
Josie and the Pussycats ,
Thirteenth Warrior,
Matrix Reloaded (skipping the 20 minute orgy),
The Last Starfighter,
Eyes Wide Shut,
Blues Brothers,
The Usual Suspects,
The Spanish Prisoner ,
Parent Trap (the Remake)
Kevin Smith Movies (except Mall Rats),
Spiderman, LOTR, and most John Cusack movies

Hate:
The Royal Tennanbaums,
Titanc (and most other Leo movies),
Hulk (the Editor was on way to many drugs),
My Big Fat Greek whatever,
Pretty Woman,
and ANY Jennifer Aniston movie.

Unusual Likes

Great Expectations - Loved the cast, and the green hue everything was filmed in. Deniro is great.

Eyes Wide Shut - I really enjoy the subtlety of the film. I don't see what was bad about it at all.

Magnolia - I thought this movie was very well done. Most people I talk to hated it.

Titanic - Okay, "liking" it is pushing it, but I didn't think it was all that bad. I saw it before most of the hype though.

Last Action Hero - Are you kidding me? This movie is hilarious!

American Psycho - One of the greatest comedies of the last couple of years. Some people never get over the ability to let themselves laugh at something so dark.

Matrix: Reloaded and Matrix: Revolutions - I enjoyed both movies.

Tremors - Classic.

Hudson Hawk - Relax, it can be fun.

Batman Returns - Maybe its just Michelle Pfieffer in the cat-suit, but I love this movie.

The Thin Red Line - To me, Saving Private Ryan is how WW2 happened, and The Thin Red Line is how you would remember it. I really enjoyed The Thin Red Line.

You've Got Mail - I've seen this plot a thousand times, with the same actors. I love it every time.

A License To Kill - This is one of my favorite James Bond movies. Some people hate me for liking Timothy Dalton as James Bond.

Some Anime - Not all, but some.

Unusual Dislikes

A Beautiful Mind - Decent. But not in my "great" category.

The Fast and The Furious - I want to vomit.

The Sixth Sense - It doesn't take six senses to figure our the ending half way through the movie.

The Patriot - Why is the director of Godzilla and Independence Day doing historical fiction?

Braveheart - If you are going to make such a story up out of a few historical concepts, just make it sci-fi, look how well its done for Costner, Postman, Waterworld.

My Big Fat Greek Failure - I don't remember laughing. I remember being angry and wanting my money back though.

XXX - Vin Diesel is everything wrong with the universe.

The Crow 2 - So bad I skipped Crow 3 and I can no longer watch Crow 1 without crying myself to sleep.

Swordfish - Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Halle Berry's tits - cool. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

SAM821 11-12-2003 01:35 PM

I also liked 13th Warrior, Waterworld, Blade...(own em all)

I hear a lot of peole say they hate Cable guy...

I think its a classic!

SAM821 11-12-2003 01:38 PM

pocon1 11-12-2003 01:49 PM

Hey, what about super troopers? I thought that movie was funny as hell. So was Kung Pow.

t3m3st 11-12-2003 02:03 PM

why is everyone a fucking critic? I hate the internet!

Kostya 11-13-2003 05:40 AM

Well, my greatest apostasy is that I that I think Speiberg isn't too great.

I disliked much of Saving Private Ryan.

Most disturbingly: I love Commando, Breakin I and Breakin II: Electric Boogaloo.

There are more, but in terms of sheer horror, these are my greatest movie crimes...

amonkie 11-13-2003 12:56 PM

From the people I've talked to claiming the Exorcist was the scariest movie they'd ever seen, I'd beg to differ. I kept bursting out laughing, not hiding under the blanket.

fugue_life 11-15-2003 12:02 AM

I also agree that the LAST STAR FIGHTER kicked ass, course I haven't seen if for about 10 years so my opinion could have changed
I bought Zoolander just for the gasoline fight
Enjoyed the piss out of dude wheres my car

Believes Braveheart is one of the greatest movies of all time, any male who disagrees should quickly reach down his pants and try to figure out where the hell his balls went...
O and I am ashamed to be addicted to DBZ

SOLARIS has to be one of my all-time favourite drinking movies. there is nothing quite like sitting down with a bottle of red wine and popping SOLARIS into the DVD player. if you have a good home theatre setup you'll really appreciate the DVD too. the film/video transfer is outstanding.............and the soundtrack is great to boot.

I love all three Matrix movies, with Reloaded being my favorite.

I think Batman Forever is easily the best of the Batman movies. The first two had atmosphere, but they weren't that great.

Spiderman the movie had way too many flaws. I actually consider it a bad movie.

I hate every Adam Sandler movie. Just because a movie may be funny doesn't mean it's good.

The Ghostbuster movies suck.

Eyes Wide Shut is a damn good movie!

I agree with the Solaris fans...that movie was awesome.

It didn't just come from a book, the book it came from was a biography called Wiseguy...

Heat has the worst ending to any great film. *Spoiler here. Skip down to the next paragraph. Robert DeNiro's character talks about walking away at any time, no matter what the cost, during the entire movie. So what happens at the end? He's got the money, he's got the girl. He's getting away. Then for no reason at all, his character does a complete 180. He turns back to take revenge and gets killed. Bah! I can't watch the ending ever again. It ruins the movie.
He doesn't have everything. He got screwed over by a guy who's about to get away with it. So, he desperately wants to extract his revenge upon him. I didn't find this to be terribly out of character.
Also, I think he was talking about walking away from everything you've got, at a moments notice. He did have his revenge, the girl, and the money and he did walk away from it all when he saw the heat, literally, around the corner...

Rabelais 05-25-2004 08:53 PM

I saw Howard the Duck in the theaters and loved every minute of it.

No point really... just wanted to share. ;)

Dislikes

Blade Runner puts me to sleep every time I watch it

Kill Bill

Meet the Parents and nearly every Ben Stiller movie.

Likes
Mallrats

Starship Troopers

I would say anime but Ive seen a lot of bad anime to go with all the great anime there is

Reign of Fire, Christian Bale and Matthew McConughay worked great together

Mehoni 05-30-2004 04:45 AM

People want to flog me for disliking these movies:

Star Wars. All of them. The characters are thin, have no feelings and at the end has just become a way to churn out toys. Not to mention Harrisson Ford.

Kill Bill. I've seen most of the movies Tarantino ripped off. I don't think taht is talent. If you would do that with a book, you'd go to jail for plagiarism.

Titanic. It's just stupid.

Lost in Translation. It was okay, not uberly good. It actually got a little boring.

Ace_O_Spades 05-30-2004 06:37 PM

I think Lost in Translation was the biggest waste of time in my life.

I really really liked The Cable Guy.

and Bio Dome. Hell... I can sit through ANY Paulie Shore movie and laugh my ass off...

I really really liked The Phantom Menace, it had some of the coolest characters in any movie... and I can live with Jar Jar.

I think it had to do with whether you were religious or not.

But even still, my dad wasn't raised religious, and he still can't watch the movie... it's too scary for him... and if you were to call my dad a pussy to his face you would cease to have a face in about .2 seconds.

Same here.

FoolThemAll 05-31-2004 03:41 PM

I couldn't really live with Jar Jar, but it was little Anakin that really pissed me off.

"Yippie!"

Mehoni 05-31-2004 06:18 PM

Oh, add The Exorcist and Blairwitch Project. I found neither of them scarey nor entertaining.
