ER- Bring 'Em Back!

Does anyone know if any of the original stars of the show will come back? George Clooney et al? I kind of wish they would even if just for one show.

Snakebyt 11-05-2003 08:19 PM

i havent really gotten into that show in a while, when clooney left it didnt bother me all that much , but when Dr Green died i just kinda lost intrest

steelerz 11-05-2003 08:29 PM

Still watch it sometimes but I slacked off after Doc Green died. I haven't heard if anybody is planning on coming back.

quadro2000 11-07-2003 08:19 AM

I'm one of those weirdos that didn't watch it until about two years ago. I have a hard time stomaching medical shows. I was considering watching a while ago, then I saw the episode where Lucy died and I couldn't bear to watch it again. Now I watch it weekly. There are still some scenes that are very difficult to watch (like two weeks ago when the woman lit herself on fire) but I can take it now.

I would imagine the only time you'll see any of the original characters is on a season finale, or perhaps during November/May sweeps.

Psivage 11-07-2003 11:32 AM

Is it me or is every week they advertise that on E.R there is a shocking moment you won't believe?

em1014 11-08-2003 11:53 PM

Yeah, er has gone down hill soo much. I loved the original cast. It just seemed to click, like they didn't have to try so hard. I think the best episode was when Carter and Lucy were stabbed. I think it was a valentine's day one... so sad.

Hahahah, YES! I laugh about that every week after each episode. It's always in that deep urgent voice. I love it. :D

It seems like the show is jumping the shark every week.

I enjoyed the first couple of seasons, but haven't watched many of them since then. I tried watching a couple episodes last year, and couldn't get through them. Are they TRYING to depress their viewers? Will they not be happy until everyone is crying? There is enough negativity in the real world if you're into that sort of thing, I don't need my downtime filled with it too.

Sheesh...

Soggybagel 11-15-2003 05:57 PM

The truth is...its lost some of its impact and I think it has to go for those "Shocking Episode EVER!" episodes. IF you go back and look/buy ER Season 1 dvd you do realize why this was basically Critically Acclaimed. The first season was great and everything really worked well.

As far as original cast. Don't hold your breathe except maybe the FINAL Episode ever of ER.

flamingdog 11-16-2003 08:57 AM

i hate ER... that was constructive wasn't it?

Noah Wylie is still with ER I believe, he just has a special contract where he only has to work 50% of the shows, so I assume he will show up mid-season in a return from the Congo, OR, when Luca goes back to the Congo there will be more storyline between the two of them.

quadro2000 11-17-2003 08:12 AM

Apparently Noah Wyle took a leave so he could spend more time with his wife and kid.

I like the addition of Linda Cardellini to the show, I think she's very good. I liked that she slammed Romano up against the wall last week and ripped off his hand.

(And for anybody who hasn't watched ER in the past few seasons, I imagine that's going to read as a very odd statement.)

jvwgtr 11-17-2003 10:00 AM

I may have the minority opinion, but I feel like the show is consistently great, week after week, in spite of the retarded promotions.
I liked the old cast members, but I'm really enjoying the new talent/character exploration.
My favorite? Parminder Nagra (Neela). Man, she is beautiful!

DonnieBoy 11-17-2003 09:11 PM

I am expecting Dr. Romano to go postal one of these weeks... the guy just gets crazier by the episiode.. I too like the indian chick... she can check my vitals anytime...

I was a true ER fan in the first couple of seasons, but then the storyline got soooo bad. I picked it back up right before carter/lucy got stabbed and the quit the show again. Now, I'm back again, Mekhi Phifer was a brilliant addition to the cast and keeps me watching. The originals were still the most brilliant.

micah67 11-18-2003 12:12 PM

The promos fall into two categories:

"This week on ER - A Hero Returns"
"This week on ER - We Say Goodbye to a Special Friend"

oh and:

"The ER will never be the same."

But I still watch...

Cycler 11-20-2003 09:45 PM

Yeah I still watch as well, it is one of the only things I will bother to set the VCR to record. Tonight's was pretty hairy. I like the changes. Sure the old guard was great but these new guys and gals are really pretty good as well. The new nurse and her freaky kid are great additions.

Which one is Linda Cardellini? I musta missed that episode.

Daval 11-21-2003 05:55 AM

I really enjoyed last nights episode. As Jvwgtr said above, I watch the show consistantly and have always liked it. Sure there are the occasional misses, but I still find myself entertained for an hour.

So who was hoping that at the very end when they were lifting the helicopter we would see a flattened Romana a la Wil-E-Coyote?

DonnieBoy 11-22-2003 07:54 AM

I can't believe romano's gone... he was such an a-hole, kinda loved to hate em'... great episode thursday. that new nursey is friggin hot...

on another note that tera reed is on SCRUBS!!!

DB

agentsmith 11-22-2003 11:25 AM

Scrubs = bestshowEvAR!

I like ER too, but I'll wait for the series to be over then watch all the episodes from start to finish.
