"Joey" New TV spin-off from Friends
 

So I downloaded and watched Matt Leblanc's new TV series last night, well the first episode anyway.

I was glad to see that the writers did not change the character at all. He is still the same good natured goof from Friends. He says and does stupid things that have always made me laugh.

The new characters are somewhat creepy, especially his sister Gina. She's a little too over the top and needs to be dialed back to have any real appeal.

Has anyone else seen it yet, what were your thoughts?

Where did you download it from? I'd love to see a copy and I suck at finding such things.

Sure I do it all the time, but isn't against the rules? I guess BitTorrent isn't really illegal since no site hosts the actual files but...

hmm, i saw it myself and i still don't know what to think of it. had a few scenes that made me smile, but i think i'll need to catch another episode or two before i cast my verdict.

I agree that Gina's a little over the top though, but i'm sure it'll be a couple episodes before her character settles into her groove.

i really like the addition of the college "nerd" though. he's going to add a very different dimension to the show. i think they're definitely targeting a younger audiance with this.

My local TV guide said that they filmed an episode, and it was canceled even before the show got on the air.

That's what I was thinking when he asked, but I figured at worst he would edit my post. But I still have my fingers crossed.

I watched the episode and it wasnt bad. I agree that Gina is over the top and needs to find her groove, but I like how they didnt try and change Joey at all, he's still the same popular and loveable character.

I'd like to see more.

It looks like this is all we are going to see (at least till it's released after the Olympics). From what I understand, the only reason we got to see this one is because NBC released this pilot preview to advertisiters ahead of time. I guess they got greedy and wanted to squeeze as much advertising revenue from it as they could...lucky for us.

If I come across anymore episodes I will (discretely) let you know :)

pheww..lucky I check it out before Mr. Secretmethod edit the post. It seems pretty funny, it got that "friends" vibe goin' on...the MILF thing is definitly cool :D
