Oh So Tasty Coffee Cake (IT Geek boy heaven)
The geeky boys in my office are in heaven, for years they have been promised baked goods but location was always a negating factor - now that I'm in the right state (as far as they are concerned) they got their baked goodies this morning - and boy was it a hit...
Coffee Cake Filling: 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Mix together. Cake 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup sour cream 1 tsp vanilla 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt Mix butter, sugar and eggs. Add sour cream and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Spoon 1/2 of mix into prepared pan. Top with 3/4s of the filling and then the remaining batter. Sprinkle remaining filling on top of the cake. Bake at 375° for about an hour. Remove from pan and cool. (I'm still trying to judge how hot my oven is, so cook til a knife inserted in the center comes out clean) |
Wait. I could be wrong. But is this coffee cake missing... coffee?
|
Coffee cake does not contain coffee rather it is to be eaten in conjunction with...
|
Looks good Mal...I'll have to bake one soon...

Actually baking them would require them to be mailed  But posting a recipe means that instead of you doing the work, one of my friends gets to :icare: :D Or if i'm feeling unusually ambitious some day, I could bake them myself. :) |
