Need idea for getaway location

Hey guys, my friends and I need ideas of where to getaway on one of the weekend in April. Originally we were planning on going back to Radium to use a friend's uncle's cabin but it just suddenly became unavailable and we're looking into other places to go. I'm thinking Jasper because I remember renting a hotel room that was big enough for a family that included couple of bedrooms, a sitting room, and a kitchen.

Its gotta be like 5 hours drive from Calgary in a small town. Any idea of places to go? And why?

If you don't mind a BIT more of a drive than 5 hours, the whole southern Okanagan is a pretty sweet spot to hit up. Wine tours to Nightclubs, Sand beaches to wilderness fishing. Ride a train up the okanagan stopping at vineyards for tasting, go to the Fest-of-ale (I THINK I enjoyed it, don't remember much), or rent a houseboat on Okanagan Lake.

I sound like a freakin tourist bureau. Can you tell I'm counting down the days? One year, till I get outta Yellowknife and move back....

Drumheller. Can't be more than 5 hours. Educational. Fun. Small town. Greasy spoon diner. And uh,,, dinosaur remains. Ooooh.

Never did like Jasper. Dirty and dull. But sadly, I can't offer somewhere else close to Calgary. I like AKarma's idea of the Okanagan tho'. Lots of fun to be had there.

There's always Montana...

Nelson BC.

It's about 6hrs from Calgary and has everything you could ever ask for. Bars, great scenery, nude beaches.

Is the nude beach open in the winter? :D

The winter is the best time for the nude beaches!
I am not sure where to go, but I live in Calgary and I want to get away too. Life has just been kinda getting ot be too much lately and I want to just run away somewhere for a week and just relax.

Come to Saskatoon, where you can do absolutely nothing. I know it's a hard concept to grok but literally, there is no big rush to go see anything, because there practically nothing to do. It's the absolute in get away from it all.

Well, except for the Jazz festival, this summer. And our local prices aren't inflated over here good neighbour.

i can grok that.

Dude, if you get your ass to Saskatoon, we can have the TFP meetup of a lifetime!

Strippers, Smack, Steak, Beers... these are just a few things that await you in wonderful toon town.

Seriously, I would say that if you guys want to get away and do the outdoorsy thing, the mountains are great.

If you want to do the touristy thing, I would second Drumheller.

If you want to shop, may I suggest you hit the US border and let your hair down. The Canadian Dollar has not been this high in 14 years. Good deals.

Hey bigben, you seen how much hair I got to let down?

And I am actulaly in Saskatoon fairy often as I got some relatives that live south of there. And I am thinking of going to drumheller pretty soon, go see me some dinosours and climb the doons.
