Yo, im new here.

I left my milk container out for a few hours. is it ok or spoiled?

Went to the grocer and forgot to put it in when i got home....

How long is a few hours? At my old job we left milk out for 2 hours at a time but never longer than that.

depends on how warm the room is where it was left out...

open the milk an give it a sniff.. you'll know if it's spoiled or not

if you can't smell like some people, pour a little into hot water or coffee. if it curdles when it hits the heat, you know it's bad.

generally it also means that your shelf life of the milk will not last as long as advertised (on the bottle/box) if you have left it out for any length of time.

Man up! Put on some old spice, make a baby, then take a big swig!

If you have Newcomers in the neighborhood, give them a few shots. If they get plastered, then it's spoiled.

Once upon a time, milk was left "out" all the time.

This might be how we discovered cheese.

If your milk container is a cow, you don't have to worry at all.

I wonder if that irradiated milk would last longer at room temp? At least before the container is opened, I doesn't require refrigeration.

Since it was sealed, I'd think that you have a better chance of it still being OK than if it were opened.

2-3 hours should be alright. Otherwise- congrats, you have a great start on sour cream.

I just hope you haven't waited until the end of this thread before putting it back in... :)
