My passing arm isn't as strong as it used to be, so she'll probably take more than 13 hours to get to you. But last I saw her she was flying in a tight spiral that any NFL quarterback would be proud of.
|
Are you rooting for any team (player) in particular, now that the 2011 NFL Playoffs are near-underway?
|
Of course I'm rooting for the Eagles, our home town football team. They didn't look very good in the last game against stupid old Dallas, but the game didn't count for anything anyway. I hope they can play the next game as well as some of their better past games. As far as a player, I haven't gotten to the "forget" part and may never, but I am all for the "forgive" part when a person seems to be making an effort at self-improvement and so far Michael Vick has my "forgive" still going for him...not to mention he's really showed off some of his strong quarterback skills in a few past games so I hope he can do that again in the playoffs.
I hope that wasn't a "too long" reply, but on that note, earlier this evening my younger son, 14.5 years old now, asked me to take him on one of his favored "ghetto rides" through Philly. He likes to cruise around in unfamiliar parts of town to see how those different parts of the city look. So tonight we took this loopy route: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...deJan32011.jpg |

But ace astrophotographer Thierry Legault found a way to make today's partial solar eclipse even more memorable. He traveled to Oman, and with split second timing, he captured a view that will be hard to forget. In a brief moment, with the moon blocking a section of the sun's disk, Legault opened his camera shutter for a mere 1/5000th of a second, capturing the International Space Station (ISS) as it transited the sun. I currently have about 8 or 9 "posts" (galleries, articles) queued for our STARS & Space topic, but I have not yet found the offhand twenty consecutive minutes to create the thread yet. I'll see if I can whip it up soon (rather than have it languish for half-a-year in my notes, much like my "Tilted Aquarium" idea).
(and maybe you meant ... 'dirty apes'? ... or: 'Wicked Applesplitters'?) |
Jet, maybe if you know a witch she can tell you if you'll ever get to those threads or not.
I'm not sure but that might have to be a fortune telling witch. Be ready to pay the tax on her services, though: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...anwitchtax.jpg Romanian Bratara Buzea, 63, who was imprisoned for witchcraft under communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu's repressive regime, speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in Mogosoaia, Romania, Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011. Trouble is brewing for Romania's witches, whose toil is being taxed for the first time despite their threats of putting curses on the government. Also being taxed for the first time are fortune tellers, who probably saw this coming. (AP Photo/Vadim Ghirda) |

I dated a masseuse for a while and strangely enough, she only massaged me a couple times. Maybe she realized that I thought she just wasn't quite strong enough. Now my son's best friend's dad, who actually is my friend now that we hang around together once in a while, he's a chiropractor and I find his massages and adjustments enjoyable. He just gave me the treatment a few days ago as a return favor for me fixing a gear motor on one of his chiropractor tables.

|
Oz has been holy
since Lyman & his users presented what is. I take it you used the term 'holy' more loosely than I just used 'Oz'? |
You might know what I meant better than I do.
But one possibility is that I might have been referring to the porous sandstone formations in Purnululu Australia; Purnululu is the name given to the sandstone area of the Bungle Bungle Range by the Kija Aboriginal people who, as far as I know, are usually correct. These sandstone formations are quite holy: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...97f0f3e6_b.jpg |
maybe I meant holey
|
2 + 4 + 0 = 6 + 0 so if you take the 0 off both sides, you have 2 + 4 = 6 and if you subtract 6 from both sides you have 0 = 0 which to me proves the mystical nature of "0" since we took it away from both sides but it still ends up being there when all is said and done.
|
niner niner ...that means the "other guys" are 9 posts from overtaking this thread. The excitement and anticipation are giving me a buzz.
|
For some reason it's very quiet in here. Perhaps others have accepted that this thread will fall behind again and aren't interested in continuing. I'll keep on for a bit and then move on since I don't want this to be my special thread. Plus, the potential dynamics and outcome if the "other thread" passes this one again might be interesting. I'm looking forward to see what happens.
May the best thread win ;) |

I'm glad it's only an electronics problem, Ocm? Unlike our plagued friends down under...good luck Zooks. I know you guys down there are resilient but I also hope you're waterproof. Maybe there's a problem with those "reverse vortex" drains south of the equator. We might be in a magnetic reversal of earth's poles, which will stall the vortex of water spinning down the drains, and until it reverses and unstalls, the water will back up...I wonder if that could be it? Or maybe just too much rain?

I have a good joke:
Does avoiding the monster make any diff'rence? Yes, it's a riddle, my theory too obvious: The answer is yes. |
I'm not a good joke person as far as remembering or telling. So I found a silly one but I changed the names to protect the innocent:
Sarah Palin and one of her fellow hunting friends are out in the woods when the friend suddenly falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. Sarah whips out her cell phone and calls the emergency services. She gasps to the operator: “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator, in a calm soothing voice says: “Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead.” There is a silence, then a shot is heard. Sarah's voice comes back on the line. She says: “OK, now what?“ |

hi fill23ca, thanks for making this thread a bit longer.

When here/now interactions draw their truths from the past or future seems to me the only way. (I just wrote the vampire one this afternoon, but I was thinking about you last night: Jetee, I challenge: Why fiction's entertainment needs some suspension?) :) |
I can only extract my own interpreted meaning from what any one ever contemplates, (re: writes) so, I'll postulate on your previous ponderance in that fiction, does need some multiple forms of suspension, though what comes to mind are the primary two: suspension / enveloping dis-/belief is the first, for it requires thought and at times, provoked imagination; the second I have in mind is the suspensed flow / sense of the unfolding story, as it involves the reader and audience to work out preconceived notions, & allows converging, divergent, filler & "catching-up" for those who are invested, and in the end, when asked "how was it?", it's not an instantaneous response. I'd not say half, but a good chunk of whatever it is we call "art" involves individual interpretation into what makes it special.
|
Can I double-post? We should keep up this (you)-/pong, but we have shed so many personalities over the seasons, I don't even believe we have enough to make up an imagined fist, (re: five) so we can sock it to the combined scourges of those WAs.
Disregarding the above saddened hypothetical of how we are now less than half-a-dozen, (were we ever above a carton at one time, I wonder?) here is my next post, to be issued in the Paper as Art program: Papertoy Monsters, Meet Zombunny Likes: moldy lettuce and assorted... |

At this stage in my life, I'm inclined to agree.
And to add: even when I do cook, after clean-up, shut off, plating and washing, my food is not much warmer than it was from whence I started. I need to clean up before I eat, but I want to just taste something hot once in a while. (my laser-eye beams no longer work.) |
