kill it!

Feline phobias are very telling.

33 years ago, a beautiful blue-point siamese cat, graced our household with his
long and thin-liquid like and languid, prescence.
His favorite pastime was draping his foppishness across our feet, our laps,
and atop the couches,chairs,and bookcases.

Ahhh, 'Bonesy', I miss ya.

BadNick 02-24-2009 06:06 AM

About 40 years ago I had a gorgeous half-Siamese cat that I named Ralph, he was the largest cat I ever had, not sure about longest. One of my least neighborly neighbors had a yappy dog that I didn't like at all and he told me that my cat killed his dog...not sorry if he did. He was my favorite pet cat of all time....a beautiful blue-grey color. I got him for free as a kitten. Driving on the way home from school we saw a sign in front of a nice house saying "free kittens" so we stopped in and my buddy and I each got one.

I am so relieved I don't have long hair anymore.

genuinegirly 02-24-2009 11:16 AM

Long hairs can become a pain.
Especially when they're not growing on your head.

I'm gonna try using some of that Mabelline Magic Eyelash lengthener on my nose hairs and if that doesn't do the trick, I'll modify some false eyelashes to enhance my schnoz appeal. Only the shadow nose!

ring,
I can see the Edmund Fitzgerald if I squint! < I happen to have recently been there in the "where in the world am I" thread which you should all go join right now before time runs out.

ring 02-26-2009 08:18 AM

The Edmund Fitzgerald song was running through my head the other day.

I like it.

BadNick 02-26-2009 11:30 AM

I thought this was quite a good short film about the Edmund Fitzgerald and how Gitche Gumee done swallowed up another big one: ...apparently these Gordon Lightfoot songs are have strong copyright management since the Lightfoot singing was on the soundtrack but now it might have been edited out....though the video is still worth watching for the ship info

Tophat665 02-26-2009 05:01 PM

Can't think of the Edmund Fitzgerald without thinking the scene in Even Cowgirls get the Blues with the Athsmatic Quickshooting Indian lad, Julian Gitchee.

Eww, Gitchee Goo Me.

Bob Hill and his new wife Betty were holidaying in Europe in Transylvania. They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree.

Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious, her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance.

Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks.

A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door. Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?"

"I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "we don't have a phone but my master is a doctor. Come in and I will get him!" Bob brings his wife in.

An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor. I am a scientist. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had a basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."

With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table.

After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail.

Igor's master is greatly upset. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house.

Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight!

Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory. He bursts in and shouts to his master: "Master, Master!! The Hills are alive... with the sound of music!"

A: Because if they had four they'd be Chicken Sedans.

ring 02-27-2009 07:42 AM

I was happy to have four doors this morning.
After repeated attempts to open any of them,

(All were heavily frozen sealed shut, after our storm yesterday.)

I was able to get the back one open, climb over and start the vehicle.

20 minutes later...the heater blasting on high did the trick.

Sheesh.

Tophat665 02-27-2009 07:49 AM

(PMing instead)

ring 02-27-2009 08:16 AM

It was a good one!

Feel free to share it if you wish.

Tophat665 02-27-2009 09:49 AM

Indeed, so with this two door suggestion, I hereby administer the Coupe de Grace.
