For the past two years, there has been a character contest/tourny of 64 video game character facing off to determine a final winner. The third edition of this contest will be starting on the beginning of August, but right now until the end of the month they're having nominations to decide who makes it into the contest. The more nominations one gets, the higher seed it'll have in the contest.

I was wanting to see if anyone was interested in this at all; it's exciting as hell at times and worth nominating some of your favorites.

i hit the gamefaqs link, but still don't get it. are you nominating a character, like say, sam fisher from splinter cell?

Yeah, he's a good example. I'll list my nominations to give everyone some examples.

Earthworm Jim
Solid Snake
Master Chief

Knuckles

Kirby
CATS (he's the running joke of the contest, so I had to nominate him)

You're only allowed to nominate ten characters, and once you nominate one, you can't change back.

Ah, yeah, I forgot to mention that, thanks. You don't have to be one to get into the site's main page though (which is where my link takes you to), and that's how I understood the complaint. My bad.

I second that. Who, or what, is Cats?

If memory serves me right, he's from a game called Zero Wing, which I think is on the Sega Genesis. He's infamous for notorious lines like "All your base are belong to us" and "Someone set us up the bomb", among other silly grammatically-wrong quotes that occur in a cheesy script. I've never played the game, however, so I don't know if it's any good or not.

I always enjoy the first few weeks, but towards the end it always gets a little too predictable. I'll be following it nonetheless.

Ill follow it, but im sure the end winner will either be Sephiroth or Link.
