Well, I am confused but that is great news!

Every time i play BF1942 90% of my team just stands in the airfield waiting for planes to spawn.

That's why I like servers with FF on so I can take a Jeep and plow them all down

You should play Forgotten Hope v.66, and on WOLFGaming.net's server. Its awesome. They don't allow airfield camping, taxi'ing to other vehicles (driving a vehicle to get into another vehicle before someone else), and other annoying things. They always have FF on, and you can FTK (forgive team kill) or PTK (punish team kill) if you get tk'ed yourself. They or you will get banned if you get enough PTK's against you or if you have a negative score or a high ping (300+).

The game is due june, 2005 :)

They should take their time, I'd rather have a good game than a bug/glitch filled one. I love BF1942, with the recent releases of XWW2 (Experience World War II) v2.5 and Eve of Destruction v0.4 (EoD v0.4 hasn't officially been released yet, but you can find a link to download it in their forums at the News/Announcement section in the "EoD .4 for BF1942 Coming Soon to a Jungle Near You!" topic. There is also Forgotten Hope v0.66, and the upcoming release of v0.67.

I am waiting for a solid release date before I pre-order it.

This will be the first new release I will have bought in many, many years.

I loved the first one, especially for LAN play. I'll also pre-order so I hope they didn't mess up the gameplay.

I can't wait for this one. I'm trying to occupy myself with the DCX mod until it comes out. Hope I can wait that long.

I heard demo 6/10. Fingers crossed.

I am really excited about this release, but if the airplanes and helis (especially the helis) handle like they do in Vietnam I will be very disappointed. Hopefully they'll handle more like DC, but this quote from an article about an E3 hands-on scares me a bit:

The choppers in BF:V piloted about 90% the same as they do in DC! The only difference was a slight reduction in manueverability and auto-hover. I was quite pleased with how they handled the helicopters in BF:Vietnam...they could have made them control like crap. I do prefer DC helo controls over Vietnam controls, but Vietnam was close enough to DC that I didn't mind. I do hope BF:2 has DC controls (or Vietnam controls at the very least).

I seriously can't wait for this game. I've played BF1942, Desert Combat mod, and BFVietnam to death. I LOVE these games and BF:2 is looking to be just as good.

I was addicted to the original and can't wait for this one! My only problem might be that my graphics card probably won't work: G-force 4 Ti... so i'll probably have to get a new one but it looks like it'll be worth it!

You know of any obscure websites hosting it? All the servers on the mentioned site are packed, and torrent is telling me 40+ hours

Well I downloaded it, installed it, and was crushed.. I have a GeForce 4.. I can't play. This fucking SUCKS. Im sure my card could handle it, it's handled every other top end game from Doom 3 to HalfLife 2 thus far.. Bleh, if anyone knows a workaround please share!

Anyone have a link that works for BF2 demo download?? I can't find anything that doesn't have a massive wait. IM me at Renegade Magius if you have the exe and will send it to me or have a link. Or just post a link here!! I want this demo now!

It took a few minutes reloading the page so I could get it started, but once it started I was getting about 120k/s.

Impressions: very cool. Just what I was expecting except for the fact that I can't get it to recognize the left and right action of my Saitek joystick. Everything else works fine... up and down, throttle, rudder, buttons.

Having the same problem here and I know my card will play it as well, it's played every other game I've thrown at it, thius fucking blows bigtime.

Same problem. I have a Radeon 9800PRO 128 and I can only run at 800x600 with medium settings. Looks pretty shitty
