Someones got some splaining to do!
Actually, it is pure optical illusion. The pieces do not actually fit together.
The blue piece fitted onto the red piece does not actually give a straight line (the ratio of angles (3:8 and 5:13) are not the same. The picture is small enough so that the difference is not noticeable, but they do not actually fit perfectly. |
That's a kick ass optical illusion. I was racking my brain and I couldn't figure the damn thing out.
Yeah, there is a thin slice of space along the new diagonal line that equals one square. there are at leastone more version of that one. They are great!
That is pretty cool. Of course I have a headache from trying to figure it out......
Saw this problem many, many years ago. I was probably around 12, and I spent a whole week trying to solve it, when I realized the pieces don't really fit together >.<;
yeah, at that scale you can fudge a whole box's worth of gap between the two lines.
and thus...life once again makes sense
What illusion? All I see is "64=65 ?"

lol.. then you should try out the stuff that they say. All will yield results telling you the same.
Interestingly though, recently went to a Seurat exhibit that explained similar thing, where light next to dark is ligher and such. forget what the name for it is though. |
