On days I don't lift, is it ok to do cardio?

Heya everyone.

I have recevied a ton of useful information and advice via the forums here over the last few days, and there is one issue that I am still a little unsure about.

If I workout (with weights) two days a week, is it OK to go running (or other cardio excersize) the other 3 days?

Just as an example.. Would the following weekly layout/plan be feasible, or no?
  • Monday: Run
    Tuesday: Lift/Workout
    Wednesday: Run
    Thursday: Run
    Friday: Lift/Workout

Note: The order could vary a little (IE, Lift on Thurs, and run on Fri. But generally, I'd like to keep the lifting "spaced" out.

I am going to try the Men's Health "Iron Manual," but if possible I would also like to do cardio on the days I am not lifting.

Is this possible, or isn't it recommended to combine lifting and running/cardio?

Thanks much!

in a word, yes! do some cardio

maybe don't run 2 days in a row until you've been doing it a while though eh?

I'll agree with apeman. Run every other day and take a day off from running. Don't run every single day until your legs get used to it or you might get shin splints or tendonitis.
