Thanks... yeah, nothing like life being hard to help inspire one to write. I'm fairly happy with these two poems, I like where I'm headed. The metaphors are bounding out of me of late.

I've read through your stuff several times now, and have yet to comment - I'm really not sure why. Your diction and syntax impress me - to the point that your style reminds me of that of a great writer and good friend of mine. Your passion leaks through the page, and moves me - often to the point of remembrance.

I particularly enjoy the first piece, and your use of metaphor (and then relating those images to the reality of your words.) "howling on the mountain's cleft tongue" still makes me smile, even on the third peek through.

Hey Taliendo, I had no idea that you ever replied to this (I was busy travelling around that time, I think)... I'm glad that someone is paying attention. I have been neglecting updating my poems here, and I don't know why. Part of it is the massive changes that I've been going through... I went from getting dumped and spending a lot time considering that value or relationships and if I really wanted one to having a wonderful girlfriend that has really changed my whole outlook on what is possible. With all of that said, I will start paying more attention to Tilted Literature and I hope to start up more discussions between Taliendo, Anti Fishstick (of course), and anyone else interested in my work. I also plan on paying more attention to the works of other writers on TFP, so if I'm neglecting any of you send me a PM and give me a link and tell me to read your stuff! I feel awkward commenting on anyone's stuff here because there's way too much I could say on anything - both things I like and critical suggestions. I need to get over that and comment more, this part of TFP doesn't get enough attention.

Anyway, enough of that, my next post will be my new poem.

Nice stuff Wil i can relate with quite a bit of it. Also , i love the imagery of this part :

I'm certain it is sunny
somewhere in the Philippines
where one small woman
gingerly coasting along
with Tinkerbell toes
draws in a slow breath
and lets it out

Ah, thanks... That poem came out of me thinking about how odd it is to be literally on the other side of the world of my girlfriend. She called me at 10:30 PM and I heard roosters crowing; that one thing really made it evident just how far away she is from me...
