The Drowning

Empty eyes to match an empty soul,
shedding dry tears that were dreams once.
The crush is deafening,
the pain almost welcomed, embraced,
in the darkness that is my own.
Wistlessly wandering,
searching for answers
yet only my own cries are
carried off on the wind.
The darkness closes in
to surround my thoughts
and pull me down,
drowning me with sorrow.

I'm sorry that you're hurting so, but it's nice to see that you can express it so well through your poems! I believe everyone has felt this way to some extent at some point in our lives. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I posted this in a journal entry but wanted to share it here as well.


I shall strive tonight to keep my spirits up,
to cherish what I have been blessed with;
to remember that which was loved but now gone,
to hope for the future,
to think of, yet not regret, the past.
To have the faith to dream,
the willpower to endure,
the patience to smile.
I shall strive to slow down and
treasure each sunset,
each laugh that escapes,
each teardrop of joy.
I shall hold tight and dear
all that I have, all that I love,
all that I dream of, all that I see.
I shall hold tight to the future,
the visions, the ideals.....
I shall hold tight to my hope,
my faith and my love.

Your writing is singularly amazing, and I can't get enough of it. I find it impossible to believe that you think your writing being published is a "goofy little dream".. I am sure the rest of the world would love what you have to share as much as we do here at the TF. We just get to be the lucky ones :)

I'm not very articulate, but reading (and re-reading) your words, I am starting to see something. Your dark moods are so very dark, I feel a real connection with my own black state of mind. But then your hopeful, uplifting sentiments make me feel like happy feelings might be possible. Please keep writing.

The only way I find myself able to express the "down" side is to write, torgone. It is my release....my way of not screaming out that life just HURTS damn it! :lol:

But I thank you for the support, and the kind words.
