missy and the waifs
 

went and saw missy higgins and the waifs last night and the only way i can describe it is... WOW!!!

i have never seen either live before and i havent heard a lot by the waifs but myself and my friends were blown away. missy was just so cool and casual and down to earth but then she we just go off and scream but still be able to sing beautifully, and damn she is nice on the eyes too.

then the waifs came out and that was just another thing all together. the lead guitarist sounded like he had taken not only a leaf but the whole book of david gilmore/pink floyd. his solos were just as haunting and beautiful. then one of the 2 female singers did a solo piece about a song/story her grandfather tought her to play on the harminocia. sent goose bumps down my spine.

if any of you some how get a chance to see either i would highly recommend it.. very much worth your while.

I've heard of the The Waifs and have been told they're good but have yet to see them. Thanks, I'll keep my ears open for them.

Sweet. I'm loving Missy's CD a lot. Have yet to see her live, tho.
