V-Day 2004 Poll

I'm interested to see HONEST opinions for those that choose to answer.

I know that this is an unscientific method, but still, it gets you thinking..

Always vote, it's my voice. If it goes the other way, I can always complain, because I voiced my opinion, those who don't vote, don't have the right to complain.

I vote in every election, regardless of whether it is local, county, state or national. I consider it to be one of the most important civic duties we have.

CinnamonGirl 03-10-2004 02:19 PM

I'm trying to decide which is worse--not voting at all, or not really caring and voting for the one who annoys me the least....hmmm...

Yeah, I'll probably vote anyway.

Sparhawk 03-10-2004 02:33 PM

I consider it my duty as a patriot to vote. Something that I haven't ever done, but intend to soon, is to start contacting my Representative and my Senators on issues that concern me - another duty that far too many shirk or ignore, in my opinion...

Paq 03-10-2004 02:57 PM

I vote, i walk in get out the vote campaigns, i hand out pamphlets (on dem and rep nominees, not just dems, thank you :)) and i urge anyone within 30 miles of me to vote. It's an important duty of every citizen.

BigGov 03-10-2004 05:41 PM

My opinion, if you don't vote you have no right to bitch about anyone that is elected.

Paq 03-10-2004 06:18 PM

that's my view on the matter as well.

I like to bitch, therefore, i vote :)

Locobot 03-10-2004 06:27 PM

i like to get the "i voted" sticker and wear it all day

Paq 03-10-2004 06:35 PM

you only wear it on the voting day????

SecretMethod70 03-10-2004 08:12 PM

I have a responsibility to my own dignity to only vote for someone whom I believe in. As such, I have not decided if I will be voting yet as I'm not positive I feel comfortable putting my name behind any of the candidates yet.

Chances are that at the very least I'll hand in an empty ballot if it were to come to that.

I prefer George Carlin's view that you DO have that right because you weren't stupid enough to vote for the morons in office :D

Seriously though, I will be voting, no matter what.

mystmarimatt 03-12-2004 01:52 AM

Yup. This is the first presidential election i'll be able to vote in, so i figure i better put my money where my mouth is.

JohnnyRock 03-12-2004 09:17 AM

I haven't missed a vote in the 19 years I've been eligible and certainly not missing this one. We need to take back our country from the religious right and as we learned 4 years ago, every vote counts!!!

funbob 03-15-2004 10:52 AM

I agree with Jimmy4. As a matter of fact, Jimmy4 has my vote for President...... My hat is off to all of those who take the time to vote.
