So JBX isn't allowed to start a thread like this? I may agree/disagree with him, but he definitely has a right to (a) have an opinion and (b) share his opinion. Regardless of my opinion on his thoughts, I thought they were framed well. He stated his opinion and then backed up his opinion with personal thoughts. If he is pulling from his own memory, he doesn't have to post a link to every thought that comes into his head. Now, if he states something as factual and it isn't, then it would be appropriate to correct the information. Telling him that this isn't the place for his opinions is COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE. I just doublechecked the rules for this board and see nothing like the "rule" you mentioned. It's kinda like watching TV - don't like the show, change the channel. You don't like the opinion expressed, either respond intelligently or change the channel. |
JBX, you may want to check out <a href="http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=73622"> this thread</a>

the republicans controlling the white house (let's face it, it is not the cheerleader) can not admit any wrong. the republicans who cast votes for the cheerleader can't admit they are wrong either. so they lock-step....ok....goose-step to the beat of hannity, that fathead with the drug addiction and whatever other bile spewed out in what used to be called media. the democrats don't have anything to admit to, so they just say the republicans controlling the white house are wrong. anyone who thinks that the man who is in the office right now controls or does anything connected with running our country is seriously missing the facts. the court-appointed president is an idiot, a beard. what is refreshing in politics is arnold in california. while a republican, he truly is breaking from the ranks environmentally. we do need a new system. nader just aint gonna cut it. there is no way everyone sacks up and elects a third-party candidate. the democrats probably could do it, but most registered republicans are too afraid to break away. |

The main problem I've seen with most Republicans, especially in this election season, is that they have nothing to grab onto but blatantly blind party loyalty. A week ago I was listening to my republican grandfather and uncle discussing politics and my uncle said "We cant let one of them get into office again." . Then they just go on ranting about how people are just voting for Kerry just because he isn't Bush. I heard a quote once that really expresses how I feel about the whole Kerry flip-flopping issue, and here it is:
"America, the only place where people would prefer to be led by someone who is consistently wrong over someone who would reevaluate his opinion to determine what is truly best." I think that sums it up. |
