Nipple colour

The thought just occurred to me, why are some nipples pink and some brown? Does it progress from pink to brown with age? Or do they just get pink when they are going through their period or pregnancy?

ibis 01-01-2005 06:16 PM

Some guys have pinkish nipples and some have brown. It's all genetics... nothing to do with their period or pregnancy.

My wife and I were discussing this this evening. She was saying that girls are using something to covertheir nipples in the tanning beds because they don't want them to get dark and the boys think that they have had a baby. I told her that these girls are wasting their time, as long as they have breasts and a vagina, most guys aren't going to give two shits as to the hue of the nipple.

Mine have always been pink no matter what time of the month it is. I think everyone is different. I have heard that when a woman is pregnant her nipple and areola will darken. I don't know if that continues to stay darker after giving birth.

monkeysugar 01-01-2005 08:13 PM

I hadn't heard about nipples and areolas changing color during menstruation or pregnancy before. I've heard of them getting larger along with the rest of the breasts during pregnancy, and to a small extent during menstruation, but not changing color. Learn something new every day I guess.

I've seen pink ones and dark ones...the respective nipples didn't seem to change colors when I was seeing them on a regular basis.

a womans nipples may go from pink to brown if she has a seriously large amount of copper in her system- it does happen but keep in mind that if she has brow nips to start with then its no indicator- beyond that I have heard of womens (and mens) nips cahnging color due to bio chemistry changes- ie menstration, pregnency, chemo therapy, ect- but It seems to be on a case by case basis........

Darkening nipples is a symptom of pregnancy, but the original colors of women's nips come in all shades before, during and after pregnancy. A woman's cycle has little to do with the color of her nipples but there is some fluctuation regardless.

I like small pink nipples. From what I've seen and can remember now, seems to be tied to hair color. Blond gals with pink nips, and black haired girls with the darker ones.

my girl's a brunette with pink nipples. i guess she's exceptional :)

They won't necessarily get darker with menstruation, but they do darken during pregnancy.
Only those who have seen mine know what color they are. ;)

Interesting... I stand corrected.

Wife is a burnette with pink ones. I have heard the rumor that they change to a more brown color during/after pregancy - possibly due to breastfeeding???

Then again, my wife is on BC and has been for years and years. That simulates preganancy and she is still pink, so I guess that part of it is truly a rumor. As for the rest, I will have to knock her up and get back to you. Wait here for 2 years or so, mmmm-kay?

bad jane 01-03-2005 09:20 AM

why do some women have blonde hair and others have black? same kind of question.

yes, the nipple color can change over time and for a lot of women, it does darken with pregnancy (but like anything else, it is not true of every woman). sometimes the color will change as a person ages, and has nothing to do with pregnancy.

to further throw a monkey wrench into this, i remember seeing a Russian girl who had more of a yellowish tint to her nipples, how do you explain that one?

Psycho Dad 01-03-2005 05:26 PM

Jaundice or some blood borne disease.

You are oh-so-correct. I can't imagine caring what color a lover's nipple was.

What if it was tinted green?

I bet you'd start caring then.

As far as I know nipple color is determined by genetics and biochemistry.
Hair color has nothing to do with it.

Nah. The aforementioned jaundice though is another matter.

So your saying you wouldn't give a single thought as to why the nipple was tinted green? You wouldn't wonder even once if it was some disease? If the disease was contagious?

And if your actually being serious, good luck finding a woman whose painted her body entirely green.

Or an alien that actually looks like that and has human style genitals.

Rinndalir 01-04-2005 07:36 AM

My wife's have always been a little dark, when she was pregnant/breastfeeding they turned really really dark, almost to the color of one of my exes who was a black chick. 2 years later they are back to their original darkish pink color. She is a brunette.

Other than that I've never really thought about it. I'd imagine it has more to do with skin pigmentation than hair color, like the wife is a little darker complexioned than the average white girl.

Redgirl 01-04-2005 08:44 AM

I don't know, I always thought all redheads had pink nipples. But that's the only hair coordinated color I've heard of. Hmm....

Well, considering the only green woman I know is She-Hulk, then yeah.

But my love of busty-and-muscular females is irrelevant to this thread.

Though, as an aside thought to fictional femmes...

Who wants to bet Mystique has purple nips? I mean, most normal white women have pinkish ones... but Mysti's blue-ness must contribute somehow, so I bet they're purple.

chickentribs 01-05-2005 10:05 PM

Don't forget that if it is a picture you are looking at on the web or magazine, there are a lot of lighting and filter, and air brush elements that can drastically change color and appearance.

Think though, if it all looked the same underneath, it wouldn't be near as fun! Viva la difference!!

My wifes nipples got darker after pregnancy as well as larger. Me likey.
