Congrats to Carolina, that was one hell of a series.

I hate that Carolina won. I'm a Red Wings diehard so the only good thing that could have happend was for Edmonton to win. *sigh*
Oh and I hate it because now all these rednecks around here will be drunk and pretending they know what hockey is all about. *doublesigh* |

eh, I've never been much of a Chelios fan.. but if it takes him staying for Stevie to make one more run, then I'm all for it.

I can't wait for next year. Kudos to all hockey fans everywhere for showing support for their team and the whole sport.
|
I won...yay :(
Would have rather the Oilers had won, but no point dwelling on that now. I guess it's back to the tired old mantra: "There's always next year." :D Thanks Ace_O_Spades, it's been an awesome group of threads. The score tables were definitely a nice touch. If you do this again next year, I'd definitely like to participate again. |
If it makes you guys feel any better, things have definitely changed since mid season for Yzerman. A little past the half way point of the season, he had annouced to his wife and to most of his "entourage" (agent, publicist, mechandiser...) that he was definitely retiring. But now, for obvious reasons, things have changed, and the only thing holding him back is the fact that he was so ready to call it a career earlier (as was his family). Hope the little inside scoop will keep the hope alive until he makes his decision.

I was going for Edmonton. As a Massacusetts native I can't root for my hometown team in the playoffs, but maybe next year? As for Carolina? Yeah, hockey in the South? The Stanley Cup in North Carolina? Weird...

(Man, I miss the old days of the NHL. Hockey was much more exciting back then. Where have you gone Jay Miller and Reggie Lemelin??? :| ) |
