sorry, but I don't see them being transparent. Something else has to contain the speaker surround and the magnet in order to be a speaker.

seems to me it's housed in the silver bar.

It IS possible that the cone will be the glass, all you gotta do is make the glass vibrate correctly to produce the sound.

They're clear. Good for them. I'll take some nice big boxes over them any day. Thank you.

reminded me of the soundbug... a thing thinkgeek has... yo ucan stick it to a glass window or many other surfaces and it turns them into a speaker...

More than likely what's already been mentioned, or a cheap set of electrostats. Even the largest floorstanding electrostats like Martin Logans use cone drivers for low end and midrange boost because ESL's severely lack in that department. I'm cringing just thinking about it. I bet they sound as good as Bose...

This reminds me of a very poor investment that Paul McCartney once made in an attempt to create "Loudpaper," dual-use wallpaper and speakers. No word on his state of intoxication at the time.

Lmao that sounds great. /sarcasm

I've seen these at Brookstone. It's just a standard speaker, but the "cone" is that flat plastic panel. They sound like utter crap and are just silly no-name overpriced toys, like pretty much everything that place sells.
