Video Codec
 

I have this AVI file but when i play it 3 diagonal lines go across WMP, and inbetween each line the movie is moved off center. I have the lastest Nimo pack and have no clue what codec it use?

go to www.vcdhelp.com and download a program called 'gspot' from there

it'll give you all the info needed about codecs

i could be wrong...but i suspect this is your problem.

i always tell people to stay away from Nimo..never used it, heard too much crap about it, i don't trust it.

and The_Dude's right about GSpot. great lil util. :)

i'll have to check out that gspot app, as i've never heard of it. i highly recommend the ffdshow codec pack (google for it, you'll find it.)

it's the only set of video codecs i use, and i haven't ever had a problem with playing video while using it.
