AOL Instant Messenger Logging?

Id like a way to log my AIM conversations. DeadAIM used to do it very well, but from their website, it isnt compatible with the newest versions of AIM, and I really dont feel like trying to track down an old version of AIM to run with it. Normally Id just go for an alternate client like GAIM, but Ive yet to find any client that I liked better than the AOL one, and Ive tried probably all of them.

Anyways, anyone know of a logging plugin of some sort? Or does anyone know if DeadAIM will work with the most recent version of AIM?

the newest google desktop search actually keeps a aim log and allows you to browse it by going to the google webpage. Or for some reason it logs my aim conversation

Check out http://www.imsmarter.com -- an AIM/MSN/Yahoo proxy that logs and does a BUNCH more. Pretty slick!

I use AIMutations, but like DeadAIM you have to use AIM 5.2 to take full advantage of it.

DeadAIM is good for logging. AIMutation logs. I think that's all I know. I personally use DeadAIM 4.5. :)

Middleman hasn't failed me yet.

If you use Trillian for talking on AIM (or any other messenger for that matter), it has logging abilities built in.

Best advice I can give is that it's easy to get an older version of AIM here: http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=aim
Did your tracking for you! :p
I use 5.5 with DeadAIM when in Windows and it works great

Oh, and it's Gaim or gaim, but *not* GAIM or gAIM (legal reasons)

I use Miranda has logging and you can search through it too!

I know you said you don't wanna track down an old AIM version, but if you give up there's http://www.oldversion.com with old versions of AIM on there.

I personally use AIMutation, sans any system-slowing skins provided. Works great, I've had it on my systems for 6+ months and I can look up logs from last May. The only problem that I can't seem to get around is that to view the logs (without using explorer to dig up the files/folders) is that you have to be signed into AIM to look at the logs.

Thanks for the info... I dont know why oldversion.com didnt come to me... Brain lapse I suppose. Ill give that a shot along with some of the logging plugins listed here... Thanks for the info :)

I use GAIM or Trillain off and on. I am currently with GAIM because of Trillians horrible support for seperate Buddy Lists per account for any protocol.
