16x burner only going @ 4x....
 

Ok, so my Liteon 16x DVDRW DL burner is only writing at 4x through nero for some reason, I cant even change the speed selection, it was writing 8x / 16x before I reformated, and I have all my drivers installed / updated etc. Any know of a known problem?


I'm using Dynex 8x 4.7gb DVD+R's, which is the same thing I was using before the reformat.... HELP!

What version nero? Did you update it to the same version you were using before?

i hadnt updated it before, i just isntalled it off the CD... i'll go check to see if i have the newest version

If using 8x DVDs, then it should only burn at 8x. I have a 16x Sony burner and my stash right now are 8x DVDs, so Nero burns at 8x.

You don't want to burn DVDs faster than what they're rated.

Yah, what bendsley said. You are limited by the speed of the cd. You are using only 4x cds.

no.... im using 8x dvds, i'm reading it on the DVD itself right now.

I had to update Nero to get mine to burn at 8x. If you haven't tried that yet, you may want to do that...
