    Huzzah! Baseball is back!

I didn't get to watch the first Reds game because of work (SUPER SAD FACE), but I'm happy to report the Reds beat the Phillies 6-2. Also happy to report that I watched the Cards/Pirates game, and while I didn't really have a preference there ('cause, ew cards; and I just can't bring myself to root for a Pittsburgh team in ANY sport), the Cards lost.

Here's to a better season than last year!

    Humor, sense of.

Since this thread has apparently been designated only for comments directly related to MLB, the 2016 season in particular:

I've heard some reports that the Astros are considered to have the talent to serious contenders, not just playoff fodder, this season.

Cricket just looks wrong. Can't put my finger on it, and I know it's vastly popular in a global perspective. But with baseball, I can sink myself into the minutia of the game. A game that ends itself. No clock, or periods, or number of days (ffs) to play it. It's elegant and symmetrical. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a baseball snob. I truly love the passion and breathtaking exhilaration that is the sweet game of ice hockey.

But for now, the boys of summer are back, and I am truly excited about the Blue Jays this year. 2-0 and in first place to start the season :)

A friend of mine is a Braves fan, and he drove down for their Opening Day game. Another friend and I have talked about taking a day trip down to catch a game, but we haven't actually done it yet. The Reds play there in June. Hmmmm...

Does Ted turner still own the Braves? I used to seriously dislike him & Steinbrenner for attempting to buy World Championships...but...since MLB doesn't (didn't?) have salary caps they're not to blame for buying the best talent available.

    --------------

    Woo hoo!!
    The Astros are undefeated.
    At 1-0 :p.
    Hey, they beat the Yankees.

Turner was bought out ~20 years ago by Time Warner IIRC. I think Liberty somebody or other owns them now.

    WHOA!

T-Mobile customers can get MLB.tv Premium for free if you sign up before April 10th. I was super bummed that I couldn't afford Gameday Audio until the end of the month, so finding this out totally made my night. Sign up page is here.

I'm totally watching the Dodgers/Padres game right now. Because I can.

PS: Reds won in the 9th with a walkoff double from Schebler. w00t!

In most MLB games scoring six runs is enough to win.

    Reds swept the Phillies! w00t!

Part of me is saying, "hold back, you started out 4-0 last year, and you know what happened after that." But part of me is all, "WIRE TO WIRE, BABY!"
